Members of our community will be aware of the new strain of coronavirus which is affecting China's Hubei province and its capital, Wuhan, in particular. Our thoughts are with all those affected by this outbreak.

Public Health England has issued the following advice regarding travel and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has advised against all but essential travel to Wuhan city, Hubei Province.

We are also particularly mindful of those members of our community who have family and friends in the area who may be very concerned.

Wellbeing Support is available for students every day of the year at 4 West Student Centre, no appointment necessary, or by emailing studentservices@bath.ac.uk. Help is also available from the SU’s Advice and Support Centre. The NHS also has a Medical Centre on campus for those who need it.

For members of staff, you can speak with your HR contact or counselling support is available from the Staff Counselling Service.

Please remember to follow standard handwashing and infection control practice to prevent the spread of coughs, colds and influenza at this time of year.

If you develop a respiratory condition and have recently travelled yourself, or been in contact with someone who has recently travelled to the affected areas, please call NHS 111.
