Dr Alice Morrey, former IPR Research Assistant, has been appointed IPR Policy Engagement Manager. In her new role, she will be overseeing the IPR's Policy Fellowship Programme, through which senior policymakers and decision-makers from government and the third sector can connect and engage with leading Bath academics to explore policy questions or challenges.

Alice will also support the continued development of the Bath Policy Engagement Academy (BPEA), which offers new opportunities for the University's researchers to increase their skills and understanding of policy engagement and provides guidance on routes to successful policy engagement.

On her appointment, Alice said: “I am honoured to take on this new role and excited about the opportunities it presents. I look forward to working closely with our academic community and senior policymakers as well as contributing to the work of the BPEA and IPR.”

Alice and the BPEA team will be supported in this work by new Policy Engagement Intern Olly Connolly, who is a BSc Politics and International Relations student at the University of Bath, interning at the IPR as part of the course's placement year.

Olly will also support the ActNowFilm project, a film series which seeks to highlight the imperative need for ambitious climate action and call for the official integration of young people in climate negotiations.

Amy Thompson, Head of Policy Programmes and Communications at the IPR, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Alice and Olly to the IPR and to be able to continue delivering on the activities for the pilot BPEA over the coming year.”
