Car parking on campus is at a premium, and even permit holders are struggling to park during working hours. If you do not have a parking permit you can only use visitor ‘Pay to Park’ spaces, which are limited to six hours on Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm. On Saturday and Sunday between 8am and 5pm visitor parking costs £1.50 for half a day, or £3 for all day. Outside of those hours parking is free.

For members of staff you can read more about parking permits for staff, including details of spaces reserved for Car Share permits.

Parking for students is extremely restricted. Students living in any University accommodation are not permitted to park on campus or on public roads in Bath, and taught students living in BA1 and BA2 postcodes are not eligible for a campus parking permit, unless you have exceptional circumstances. You can read full details of the regulations.

If you park without an approved parking permit or pay to park, or you violate the parking regulations, we can issue you with a parking charge notice of £60. This is reduced to £30 if you pay within 14 days.

Due to strict restrictions, we advise you not to park on residential streets around the campus.

We encourage everyone who drives to campus to consider other more sustainable and healthy alternatives, such as walking, cycling, and public transport. Analysis of postcodes has shown that this could significantly improve the situation for those who have no option but to drive.

We would also hugely appreciate car users sharing journeys or coming to campus on days of lower parking demand; Mondays and Fridays are noticeably quieter.
