Chemical engineering applicant visit days

We run open days for our undergraduate degree offer holders on a regular basis between February and April. Find out why you should attend one.

We are offering a range of virtual and in-person Applicant Visit Days and Campus Visits.

After you receive an offer to study one of our undergraduate courses, we will invite you to one of our applicant visit days.

This year we’re offering you the choice to attend an interactive virtual applicant visit day which you will be able to join online. Alternatively, if you would like to visit our campus at Bath, meet members of the academic team and some current students, we have a selection of dates available for you to come and meet us in person.

We usually run these between February and April. You'll be able to choose which date you want to attend but it's best to book early as they can fill up fast. We'll give you information about travelling here, campus accessibility, and where to go when you arrive in your invitation email.

Gain better insight into your course

Helping you to make the right decision.

Your day starts with a welcome from our Head of Department before an introductory talk by the admissions tutor. They will tell you more about what chemical engineering actually is, the types of jobs that graduates get and what you could achieve in your career with a degree from Bath. They will also talk you through the different courses we have on offer, the degree structure and the teaching methods we use at Bath.

You will have the opportunity to visit the teaching laboratories and learning spaces that you'll use during your degree, as well as some of the research labs. You will meet our student ambassadors and staff members from our admissions and placement teams, either over lunch, during a campus tour or throughout the day. They will be ready to answer any questions would might have about the degree, the University or simply life in Bath. There will also be plenty of time left to take part in University-wide events or to discover the city of Bath on your own time.

Why you should come to an Applicant Visit Day

What you can expect from the day.

Get a feel for campus and city life

Explore our campus and take the opportunity to visit the city after your day with us.

Our students will take you on a tour of the campus during your visit. It's a great chance to see what the campus is like on a typical day and experience the atmosphere of students and staff going about their business.

Campus life isn't just about studying and there are many ways that you can make the most of your university experience. As a taster, we'll take you round our Sports Training Village (STV), where you'll have access to the same facilities used by Olympic athletes. You'll see our Students' Union, which houses the Student Centre, food outlets and the campus pub and night club. We will also show you The Edge, our arts centre where you can take dance, art and music classes.

The city of Bath is only 10 minutes away by bus so we advise our guests to take the opportunity to visit the city after their day with us has finished.

Are you unable to attend an open day?

We offer you a range of dates so that you can choose to attend one that best suits you.

If you don't live in the UK, we understand it may be difficult to visit the University on the dates given. If you contact our Department, we will do our best to arrange an individual visit for you.
