This theme aims to support the development of evidence-informed preventative policies, and to improve research impact. The theme will investigate incentives for cross-sector policymakers to use health evidence and the mechanisms that can improve their use of tools and evidence to promote health outcomes in decision-making.
It will explore how this evidence can be framed and communicated to maximise impact, and how different expertise can have influence, including how to improve public participation and collaborations between researchers and policy teams. It will seek to bring together disciplines including public and social policy, public health, economics and political science, and stakeholders across public sector and civil society, to develop new understandings on this topic.
This theme is led by Dr Geoff Bates
