Continuing our Men’s Network University Tours, February’s visit takes us to South Science. During the tour, we’ll explore a range of fascinating spaces, starting with the PhD labs in 1 South and the chemical stores. We’ll then move on to the teaching labs and invertebrates room in 3 South, before finishing in 4 South with a look around the biology labs and the fish facility.
This tour offers a great opportunity to see the research and teaching environments up close and learn more about the work happening across South Science.

The Men's Network is a space where all male staff within the University are invited to come together to socialise and discuss concerns.
The Men’s Network is led by Chair Simon Brown, with support from committee members. We offer men from all departments a safe space to discuss any concerns around physical health, mental health and general wellbeing – or a chance to simply to connect with other male colleagues.
Our network members have the opportunity to share their experiences and seek advice or support. It's our hope that these conversations and shared experiences will lead to connections and mutual support between men across the University.

We provide a safe space for men to discuss any concerns including physical health, mental health and general wellbeing. Since the group started, we’ve organised free health MOTs, heard from a prostate specialist, run yoga and movement sessions and held social get togethers.
It is hoped that these conversations will lead to meaningful connections and mutual support between men across the University.

Throughout 2026 we are hoping to organise a series of tours of campus workplaces but we need your support. Could you either help us organise a tour of your workplace or share the best point of contact to arrange this?
