Description: Aims & Learning Objectives:
To extend knowledge and its translation into policy and practice following an interdisciplinary approach which encompasses the core disciplines of biomechanics, physiology and psychology and other subjects to contextualise within the sport, exercise, and health research area. On successful completion of this unit, students should be able to:
* Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the advantages and limitations of interdisciplinary approaches in sport, exercise, and health research, policy and practice.
* Critically evaluate interdisciplinary research focusing on sport and exercise.
* Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the interactive process of interdisciplinarity in which researchers work jointly to address a common research problem.
* Lead and contribute effectively to verbal and electronic discussions.

Content:
Interdisciplinary study topics to include a combination of at least two of the sport and exercise core disciplines (biomechanics, physiology and psychology) and a selection of other disciplines related to the chosen study topic.
