Description: Aims:
To provide students with the knowledge, experience and better understanding of the scientific concepts of human and sport biomechanics and develop their ability to carry out sport technique analyses.

Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this unit students should be able to:
* Explain different approaches available to carry out sport biomechanics analysis
* Complete a comprehensive review of research literature on a sport biomechanics topic
* Given a project brief, carry out planning, data collection, analysis & interpretation stages (i.e. design and carry out a study)
* Analyse and handle sport biomechanics data appropriately
* Interpret data appropriately to convey understanding of sport techniques

Content:
Technique analysis in sport, quantitative analysis of sport movements, qualitative analysis of sport movements, simulation, case studies of technique analysis, project planning and data handling.
