Requisites:
Synopsis: Develop and practice using the modelling tools needed to make energy and environmental assessments on various aspects of building design, focussing on individual elements and buildings as a whole.

Learning Outcomes: Analyse and model the energy performance of your designs; allowing you to assess the environmental sustainability.

Know the difference between and be able to use both dynamic models and non-dynamic models.

Differentiate between precision and accuracy during dynamic simulation.

Examine the impact of errors in variables when appraising outputs.

Content: The role of modelling in the design process and energy/environmental performance evaluation.

Different categories of models including static modelling and energy/environmental assessment tools, including PHPP.

Dynamic modelling tools, selection and procedures.
