Requisites: Before taking this module you must take HL20505 AND take HL30044
Aims: To understand how nutrition impacts upon health and disease and identifying healthy nutrition behaviours.

Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of this unit students will be able to demonstrate:
* Conceptual understanding of how the metabolism of different substrates are integrated.
* Systematic understanding of the different nutritional needs of a variety of populations.
* Critical evaluation of the impact of amount and patterns of food intake on human health.

Content: Substrate metabolism, Meal patterns and health, under- and over-nutrition, nutrition in specific populations (pregnancy, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, older individuals, ethnically diverse populations), nutrition and immune function.
