Aims: Sustainability/ corporate social responsibility is a fascinating and often frustrating set of complex issues that integrate key environmental, social and economic challenges faced by organisations and the broader society. In this unit, we use a workshop approach to delve deeper into the key concepts and tools supporting sustainability within organisations. Thus, participants will be able to debate and 'try' these concepts and tools within a specific organisation. The aims of this unit are to:
1. Critically evaluate key concepts and tools used to engage in sustainability.
2. Understand the strengths and weaknesses of these concepts and tools.
3. Create the opportunity to practice the application of these.
4. Provide feedback on the application for further development.

Learning Outcomes: 1. Define and describe key sustainability concepts and tools.
2. Identify strengths and weaknesses of these concepts and tools.
3. Apply these in a real organisation.
4. Evaluate the positive and negative consequences of this application.
5. Reflect on this application and identify performance improvements.

Content: This unit will allow participants to apply key sustainability concepts and tools within a specific case starting with detecting the key sustainability challenges within the organisation, to creating a vision and strategy, to identifying key mechanisms to support the strategy, communication, measurement and reporting of performance.
