Requisites:
Aims: The purpose of this unit is to provide the opportunity to include up-to-date material from the business world that is relevant to the current cohort. Examples of topics that would have been included in this unit from recent years include Blockchain, AI, Fintech, Bitcoin, Brexit.
Students will have the opportunity to research and discuss topics that are currently topical and which are relevant to their studies.

Learning Outcomes: Successful completion of this unit should result in participants who have developed the ability to:
* Research and synthesise complex information on challenging global business issues
* Read the global business environment and identify opportunities and threats
* Articulate how they and their environment, including business competitors, can respond to these challenges
* Are purposefully developing relevant business competencies and strategies.

Content: The topics will be updated for each session and will be determined at the start of each academic year, preferably with student participation in determining the topics.
There will a number of topics that students will research in advance of the unit. The unit will then provide a forum to discuss the topic in detail, supported by expert guest speakers, to provide students with a clear view of the issues. Students will then work together in groups to identify opportunities and threats that arise and to determine appropriate responses.
