Choosing your units online

This page confirms when students can choose their units for the 2026/27 academic year and links to supporting guidance and resources.

New Undergraduates and Taught Postgraduate Students

Year 1 undergraduate and taught postgraduate students will be able to select any optional units via SAMIS during Welcome Week in September 2026:

  • Year 1 Undergraduates: Online unit selection will be available from 12pm (midday) Tuesday 22 September to 12pm (midday) Thursday 24 September.
  • Taught Postgraduate students starting in September 2026: Online unit selection will be available from 12pm (midday) Wednesday 23 September to 12pm (midday) Friday 25 September.

Students with options to choose will be contacted by email with further information about this process. Help information can also be found at Help with choosing your units

Continuing Undergraduate Students

Continuing undergraduate students should contact their programme administrator if they wish to change their optional units. The deadline for requesting a change to your optional units for Semester 1 is Friday 9 October.
