Tuition fee funding for an additional qualification

How tuition fee funding may vary if you already have a higher education qualification and plan to study another course.

Regulation

If you already hold a higher education qualification which is the same or higher than the course you plan to study then you may not be eligible for funding. You will not be eligible for the Tuition Fee Loan, Maintenance Loan or Grants, but can apply for Supplementary Grants such as Child Care Grant, the Adult Dependents Grant, Parents Learning Allowance and Disabled Students Allowance.

If one of the courses you plan to study is either Architecture, Social Work, Veterinary Science, Medical Doctor, Dentist or NHS -funded programmes, you will receive a reduced package of support. You will not be eligible for the Tuition Fee Loan, Maintenance Grant or University Bursary or Scholarship but can apply for the Maintenance Loan and Supplementary Grants such as Child Care Grant, the Adult Dependents Grant, Parents Learning Allowance and Disabled Students Allowance.
