Why Money Isn't Enough: What Makes Climate Promises Achievable?
This talk will explore the factors that make national climate commitments achievable in practice, and why finance alone is often not enough.
Drawing on research spanning Brazil, Côte d'Ivoire, India, Indonesia, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, the United States and the European Union, the session will examine how technological, institutional, economic, political and social conditions shape countries' ability to deliver on their climate ambitions.
Relevant to researchers across disciplines, the talk offers insights into how complex societal change can be enabled, governed and delivered in practice.
