The Institute of Sustainability and Climate Change (ISCC) Summer Student Placement Scheme provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to work alongside leading researchers on projects addressing some of the most pressing real-world sustainability challenges. The scheme supports students to gain hands-on research experience while contributing to innovative work across a wide range of disciplines.
Sustainability research
At this showcase event, students will present the outcomes of their eight-week placements through a series of short, engaging five-minute presentations. From developing new approaches to plastic recycling and carbon capture to investigating sustainable aviation fuels, climate action campaigns and bio-inspired materials, students will present the outcomes of their projects and reflect on their experiences of working alongside researchers at the University.
The event offers the chance to explore emerging sustainability research, celebrate the achievements of our student researchers, and hear first-hand their reflections on the challenges, discoveries and experiences that shape life as a researcher.
Whether you are interested in sustainability, climate action, research, or simply curious about the innovative work taking place across the University, all staff and students are welcome to attend.
