Setting your default printer
- Open ‘System Settings’.
- Select ‘Printers & Scanners’.
- Select either ‘Print 1’ or ‘Print 2’ from the ‘Default printer’ dropdown menu.
Print settings
The University's default setting for all printing is black and white, double-sided.
If you want to change this, you'll need to edit the settings in your print window before you submit your printing job.
If your print job says 'Hold for Authentication'
If you see 'Hold for Authentication' on your print job in the print queue on your Mac, it is likely that your password was recently changed or entered incorrectly, and the old or incorrect password is stored in your Apple Keychain.
When this occurs, the built-in Mac printing system will hold your print jobs in the local queue on your computer and wait for you to re-authenticate to the campus printing system.
Re-enter your password
- Click on the 'refresh' icon for your print job in Print Centre in the bottom dock bar.
- If the print job has a status of 'Hold for Authentication', click on the circular arrow on the far right to retry the print job.
- Enter your University of Bath username and password. Check 'Remember this password in my keychain' so that you do not have to enter it every time you print in the future. Click OK.
Remove saved password for PaperCut
