You can connect to the VPN on Windows 10, macOS, Linux, iOS, iPadOS and Android.
When to use VPN
VPN creates a secure link from your device to services at the University as if you were on the University network.
There are many reasons to use VPN, including:
- connecting to your work PC via Remote Desktop
- connecting to applications that are only accessible when on the University's network, such as Agresso, Typecase and Business Objects
- accessing UniApps or UniDesk.
Setting up VPN
To use the University of Bath VPN on a University-owned device, you should find it is already available in your Network Connections menu, you should not try and install it yourself.
To set up a personal laptop or mobile device:
You'll need Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) setup on your account to configure your device. If you haven't already set up MFA you can view the step by step guidance.
Go to connect.bath.ac.uk and choose the option 'eduroam + VPN' This tool will automatically configure your device.
