Teaching Fellow (Part Time) in MASH
This post is within MASH, the University of Bath Mathematics Resources Centre, which offers mathematics and statistics support to students and staff through a range of activities; for more details see http://www.bath.ac.uk/study/mash.
The centre is well-established at the University of Bath and, following a recent move into the Skills Centre, it is in a position to expand core staffing. The expansion corresponds to growth of taught provision across the university and this post specifically is targeted at supporting the mathematical and statistical needs of postgraduate students enrolled on new MSc programmes. This will include developing support activities using technology and providing support directly to students who are required to use mathematics and statistics packages as part of their taught programmes.
MASH is hugely successful both in supporting students and staff across the university and at a national level where it leads the way in areas such as: mathematics accessibility for disabled students; statistics support; working within the widening participation remit (specifically with students from vocational backgrounds applying to selective universities); and developing online resources. Its success can be attributed to the dedication and passion of staff working in the centre and their commitment to working together as a team.
The successful applicant will be keen to work alongside team members and will be keen to maintain the MASH service to its current, high standards.
This position is being offered on a part time basis of 18.25 hours (0.5FTE) per week. For further particulars, see the job description and person specification.
To apply for this post, please submit a CV and supporting letter in which you highlight how your experience and abilities will facilitate your effectiveness in this important post.
Informal enquiries about this position and MASH can be made to Dr Emma Cliffe (e.h.cliffe@bath.ac.uk) or Dr Jane White (k.a.j.white@bath.ac.uk).
