This Research Associate position is a two year fixed-term post to promote excellent and policy relevant research by assisting a promising early career researcher to establish themselves in the field of international development (with particular reference to poverty, inequality or wellbeing). The successful candidate will contribute to a strong and growing community of researchers in the field of international development at the University. They will recently have completed a highly regarded doctoral thesis, and have clear and convincing plans for future research, high quality publications, and impact. This is a training and development position open only to candidates who have no prior post-doctoral experience in a Research Associate or similar position. 

The Centre for Development Studies at Bath has been a leading UK centre for research and postgraduate study in international development for more than thirty years (see for further details). Applications with a strong political economy focus are particularly welcome. The post will be based in the Department of Social and Policy Sciences, and it is expected that the successful candidate will contribute to its continuing record of internationally recognised research excellence. 

The deadline for applications is 13 July 2018. As part of the application, candidates are asked to provide an updated CV, a covering note demonstrating how they meet the criteria set out in the job description, and a proposal (maximum two pages or 1000 words) indicating their plans for the Research Associate post. 

Interviews will take place on 30 and 31 July 2018.
