We develop courses in consultation with industry, equipping our students with the transferable skills needed for the workplace. Our students have the technical ability, creativity and teamwork experience needed by practising engineers. Students learn problem solving, decision making and communication skills during project-based work. We nurture innovation by encouraging students to take ideas from concept through to end product.

You can employ our undergraduate students for year-long placements or our postgraduate students for placements of three months. This gives you more options to find the right student for your company for the right length of time.
Our students work at your company as fully contracted employees, under the guidance of your experienced engineers. Most companies pay students between £16 - £28k a year with the average being £18,500.
All our engineering undergraduate degrees include optional year-long placements, allowing our students to bring two years' of core engineering knowledge and practical project experience to your workplace.
Our MSc Modern Building Design and MSc Robotics and Autonomous Systems include integrated three-month placements. The placement starts after our students have completed their first two semesters to ensure they can bring fresh academic learnings to your company. Starting in June, the placement may run in parallel with our students' research dissertation which could be based on solving a problem your company proposes.
