Wellbeing & Human Development: Extended Essay
This unit allows students the opportunity to develop a more in depth understanding of a key issue of their own choice in the field of wellbeing and human development.

Unit content
The unit builds in two stages:
- Writing a 300 proposal identifying the topic area to be addressed for approval with unit convenor.
- Doing independent research with minimum supervision.
Learning outcomes
- To identify a specialist issue in the field of wellbeing and human development of their own choosing and develop their skills in locating and reviewing relevant literature.
- To demonstrate a systematic understanding of, and ability to critically evaluate, theories and/or policies relevant to the issue.
- To apply this understanding to the issue demonstrating originality in the application of knowledge.
Qualifications
The unit carries 6 credits and can build towards a University of Bath degree qualification:
- Postgraduate Certificate (30 credits)
- Diploma (60 credits)
- MSc (90 credits)
