Entry requirements
You can find detailed entry requirements for all our postgraduate programmes in the postgraduate prospectus. A first or upper second class honours degree (or equivalent) is normally required for a research degree programme.
International students

English language requirements
For most programmes, the requirement for non-native English speakers is one of the following:
- 6.5 in the IELTS Academic English test with no less than 6.0 in any element
- 92 in the TOEFL internet-based test with no less than Writing 21, Listening 21, Reading 22 and Speaking 23
Certain programmes of study ask for higher scores, so please check the programme details.
For the acceptability of other English language tests, please contact the Admissions Office. Your offer letter will also give details of any English language requirements.

The English Language Centre offers pre-sessional language courses during the summer and in-sessional courses during the academic year.
