Architecture applicant visit days

We run visit days for our undergraduate degree offer holders on select days in March and April. Find out why you should attend one.

We are offering a range of virtual and in-person Applicant Visit Days and Campus Visits.

After you receive an offer to study one of our undergraduate courses, we will email to invite you to one of our applicant visit days.

This year we’re offering you the choice to attend an interactive virtual applicant visit day which you will be able to join online. Alternatively, if you would like to visit our campus at Bath, meet members of the academic team and some current students, we have a selection of dates available for you to come and meet us in person.

We usually run these between March and April. You'll be able to choose which day you would like to attend, but it's best to book early as dates can fill up fast. We'll give you information about travelling here and how to let us know about any accessibility or dietary requirements in your invitation email.

Gain better insight into your course

Helping you to make the right decision.

We've planned the day in a way that gives you plenty of opportunities to ask informal questions and talk with staff and students.

Your day will begin with a talk by our Director of Studies. They will tell you more about how our courses are structured and assessed, the topics you will study and our placements scheme.

Throughout the day you'll talk to students from different year groups, gaining a real insight into how your knowledge and ability will develop during the degree. You'll find out what architecture is about, what it's like to be a student at Bath, and will even experience a mini-architectural design project.

Our first-year students will also take you on a tour of our Department. This will include the design studio spaces and computer suites where they develop their work, and the fourth year studios where you can see the individual projects final-year students are working on.

Towards the end of day you'll take part in a design exercise with our final-year students. Working in a group, you'll develop a design idea, build a model and present your work to other groups. This is a taster of how you will develop architectural solutions in your career.

Get a feel for campus and city life

Explore our campus and take the opportunity to visit the city after your day with us.

Taking a self-guided tour around campus is a great chance to see what the University is like on a typical day, and experience the atmosphere of students and staff going about their business.

Campus life isn't just about studying and there are many ways that you can make the most of your university experience. We'll provide you with a map so you can visit our Sports Training Village (STV), where you'll have access to the same facilities used by Olympic athletes. You can see our Students' Union, which houses the Student Centre, food outlets and the campus pub and night club. You can also visit The Edge, our arts centre, where you can take dance, art and music classes.

The city of Bath is only 10 minutes away by bus, so we advise you to to visit the city after your day with us has finished.

Are you unable to attend an open day?

We offer a range of dates so you can choose to attend one that best suits you.

If you don't live in the UK, we understand it may be difficult to visit the University on the dates given. Please contact the Department and we will do our best to arrange an individual visit with our Admissions tutor.
