Electronic and electrical engineering offer holder days

We run visit days for our undergraduate degree offer holders on a regular basis between February and May. Find out why you should attend one.

After you receive an offer to study one of our undergraduate courses, we'll invite you to attend one of our offer holder days to find out more about studying your course and student life at Bath.

We offer dates for in-person days where you can visit us on campus, or interactive virtual events that you can join online. We usually run these on Wednesdays between February and May to give you plenty of time to attend one before you decide where you want to study your degree.

Like our Department, our visit days are small and friendly. We don't interview you because we feel that your results tell us more about your ability than a formal interview process. We want you to enjoy the day and get to know about our courses and our community in a relaxed environment.

You'll have opportunities to chat with our staff and students and ask any questions you may have. You'll also get to talk to other guests with the same interest in engineering as you.

Gain better insight into your course

Helping you to make the right decision.

Whether you join us online or on campus, you'll get the chance to meet some of the academic team who may teach you during your degree. You'll hear from them about how your course is structured and assessed, the topics you will study, and other opportunities available to you, such as joining our student competition teams.

Some of our current students are on hand during the day. They are at various stages of their degrees and can give you a full insight into their study experience in the Department and student life in Bath.

You'll also learn more about placements - these are optional on most of our courses and taken in the third year of study. You'll find out more about why you should consider a placement and the sort of companies where you could be employed.

See the spaces where you'll develop your skills

A department tour gives you access to the laboratories and learning spaces you'll use during your degree.

We'll take you on a tour of our labs where our students carry out their project work, and where innovation meets education. From the first year to the last year of your curriculum, the labs are a central place where students learn key hands-on skills. You'll see some of the projects completed in the third and fourth years. They cover a wide range of topics including electric vehicles, electronic medical devices, electronic space systems, robotics systems, and machine learning for electronics.

Get a feel for campus and city life

Explore our campus and take the opportunity to visit the city after your day with us.

Our students will take you on a tour of the campus during your visit. It's a great chance to see what the campus is like on a typical day and experience the atmosphere of students and staff going about their business.

Campus life isn't just about studying and there are many ways that you can make the most of your university experience. As a taster, we'll take you round our Sports Training Village (STV), where you'll have access to the same facilities used by Olympic athletes. You'll see our Students' Union, which houses the Student Centre, food outlets and the campus pub and night club. We will also show you The Edge, our arts centre where you can take dance, art and music classes.

The city of Bath is only 10 minutes away by bus so we advise our guests to take the opportunity to visit the city after their day with us has finished.

Are you unable to attend an open day?

We offer you a range of dates so that you can choose to attend one that best suits you.

If you don't live in the UK, we understand it may be difficult to visit the University on the dates given. So we also include several online dates where you can join us virtually to meet our staff and students and get more of a feel for our Department, courses, and student life at Bath.

If you can't attend one of our in-person days but find yourself in Bath on another date, you can contact us and we will do our best to arrange an individual visit for you.
