LGBTQ+ student support at Bath
Information on support for students who identify as LGBTQ+ and how the University and wider Bath community can provide support.
To support our students that identify as LGBTQ+, those questioning or those that want to be an active ally, we have produced a number of simple guides to provide support and resources.
Our coming out with confidence workshop is for LGBTQ+ students who may experience anxiety around the continual process of ‘coming out’ to friends, family and new colleagues, with a particular focus on starting at a new university. It may also be beneficial for students going on placement, starting a new job or facing anxiety of ‘coming out’ to family and friends.
Student Support provides support to all students at the University so if something is bothering you there is always someone to speak to. We offer wellbeing, counselling and mental health support, money advice, disability support and general information.
The University promotes a culture of respect that’s free from harassment and discrimination. Our Be The Change campaign aims to tackle all forms of harassment. If you experience any form of harassment including homophobia, biphobia or transphobia you can report this through our Support and Report tool or to a member of staff in our SU Advice Centre, Student Support or Security. If you ever feel unsafe you can seek help from Security though our SafeZone app.
