Mathematics MSc Courses Welcome Week Timetable

During Welcome Week 2024 you must attend department and central Welcome Week events which will help you settle into University life.


Timetable

Arrivals Weekend is from Friday 20 September to Sunday 22 September 2024.

Welcome Week runs from Monday 23 September to Friday 27 September 2024.

University Life

You must attend a University Life session taking place over arrivals weekend. Find your University Life time slot. It’s important that you attend this.

1.15pm 2.05pm The Parade The SU Sports Day: Use this free time to meet the sports clubs and teams and find out how to join. This is an optional activity.
2.15pm 4.05pm Chancellors' Building 3.5 Networking, technical skills development, and real-world business challenges

Thursday 26 September

Start Finish Location Description
9.15am 1.05pm 4 West 1.7 Software Training with Dr Eike Müller. An introduction to some useful software packages e.g. VScode, Git, Rstudio, Anaconda, Jupyter, NumPy, Unix. You will need your laptop, university username and password.

Friday 27 September

10.15am 12.05pm Chancellors' Building 4.8 Group Challenge for Data Science and Statistics (Health)
10.15am 12.05pm Chancellors' Building 4.10 Group Challenge for Financial Mathematics with Data Science
12.15pm 1.05pm Founders' Hall The SU Freshers Fair: Use this free time to explore what's on offer at the University and in Bath and pick up some freebies. This is an optional activity.
2.15pm 3.05pm Online on Zoom NeverOK: Understand the community of the University of Bath, and how you can be an active bystander and promote equality.

Freshers' Week

The Students' Union also runs optional Freshers' Week activities you might be interested in.
