Applying for the joint Bachelor of Engineering degree for NCEPU students

If you are an NCEPU undergraduate student, you can apply for our electrical engineering 2 + 2 course. Find out what qualifications you need and how to apply.

Entry requirements

To apply for the 2 + 2 programme, you must be a second-year undergraduate student at North China Electric Power University (NCEPU). You should be studying a BEng in Electrical Engineering and its Automation, and about to complete your second year. You will need an average mark of over 75% when you are interviewed.

English language requirements

You will need a 6.5 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with at least 6.0 in any element (reading, writing, listening, speaking).

If you don’t meet the English language requirements, you can enrol on one of our pre-sessional English language courses. The five and ten-week courses run in the summer, starting in July and August. You must pass the pre-sessional course to carry on to study the 2 + 2 course at Bath.

How to apply

You should first apply for the 2 + 2 programme at NCEPU. This part of the process will be managed by a team at NCEPU.

A senior member of staff from our Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering will visit NCEPU in March and interview you. If you are successful you will be asked to apply to Bath for either the BEng Electrical Power Engineering or BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

You'll receive an unconditional offer and be asked to apply for university accommodation.

If you don't meet the English language requirements, you must apply for the pre-sessional course. We will arrange temporary accommodation for you for the five or ten-week course.
