Edge Arts, the University of Bath’s unit offering programmes for both public and campus engagement, are seeking a highly organised and confident individual with proven experience in exhibition co-ordination and delivery for the role of Exhibitions Manager.

Working to the instruction of The Director of Arts and occasional guest curators, you will be responsible for co-ordinating all aspects of exhibition delivery to deadline and on budget, in the Andrew Brownsword Galleries at the University venue The Edge, and as suitable elsewhere The role maintains oversight of project elements including artist and partner liaison, commission implementation, transportation, planning, budgeting, preview organization, working closely with Edge Arts colleagues, incuding the Technical Manager (Visual Arts) to ensure the highest standards.

You will co-ordinate relations with many stakeholders (internal and external) including artists, international and UK organisations, gallerists, curators and designers.

The Edge is an arts and creativity hub informed by the context of the University of Bath. The centre encourages and nurtures arts and research collaborations, providing a place for artists, audiences, researchers and academics to identify and share new perspectives, showcasing new thinking and ideas. Here, mechanical engineers meet sculptors interested in moving structures, architects work with artists to shed new light on the nature of play and how architecture influences it. The current exhibition features artist Steven Pippin's use of inventing and engineering expertise, displaying artworks of scientific complexity.

The centre’s year-round programme of exhibitions, performing arts presentations, talks, arts classes, family and community events, provide experiences of educational, emotional and intellectual stimulus, all based around an ethos of bringing together arts, research and adventure.

Programmes at The Edge and elsewhere are co-ordinated by Edge Arts (formerly ICIA), the University of Bath’s unit for the provision of arts for public consumption. Edge Arts also support the extra curricular interests of students engaged in the performing and visual arts.
