This is an exciting time to join our newly created team that reports to the associate Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research). As part of this significant investment from the University and you play a key part in establishing the area of research governance, integrity, and ethics. 

About the role:

You will be supporting the implementation of a new on-line research ethics system, along with managing the change of existing processes and providing guidance/training to users. You will also be:

  • Providing advice and supporting on research governance issues
  • Working collaboratively across the University to support the management of the research ethics processes
  • Ensuring that ethics applications are assessed, completed, allocated to the correct research ethics committees, and processed within agreed timescales
  • Delivering training to staff across the University
  • Managing and maintaining records to ensure easy and accurate reporting and information management
  • Providing reports to the Academic Ethics and Integrity Committee
  • Managing the ongoing auditing processes for projects throughout their lifecycle and develop monitoring and ad hoc reviews

About you:

With a good understanding the research environment within Higher Education and recent developments in the sector relating to open research, you will also have:

  • Experience of providing support to committees/governance bodies
  • Knowledge of Research ethics frameworks
  • Excellent attention to detail with an ability to work across a wide remit
  • Have proven communication and interpersonal skills
  • Enjoy working effectively within academic and research communities
