This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a progressive Student Services team in delivering an integrated range of innovative, evidence-based services which are designed to provide high-quality pastoral care and enhance student resilience and wellbeing within the context of the University’s Education Strategy.

The Disability Service provides advice and support to over 1500 students with disabilities, dyslexia or long term conditions. The role includes operational management of the Disability Advice and Support Teams to ensure high quality, joined-up case work, guidance for academic and professional staff and liaison with a range of external service providers.

You will have the ability to lead a professional team working across professional boundaries within a large and complex organisation; excellent communication, interpersonal, team working and influencing skills; and experience of managing a team in a service orientated environment to achieve high levels of performance.

You will also have an understanding of higher education structures, concepts and practices, and how to effect change and influence institutional practice; knowledge of inclusive teaching practices and the delivery of high quality disability services; and a commitment to equality, diversity, dignity and respect of all students and staff.

Student Services also includes Counselling & Mental Health, Wellbeing and Student Money Advice services. The post holder will work closely with other Professional Services, Academic Departments, the Students’ Union and community based agencies.

This post is full time (36.5 hours Mon-Frid) and is being offered on a fixed term basis for up to 20 months, with an anticipated expiry date of 31 December 2019..
