We are seeking to appoint a new colleague as Professor of Supply Chain Management to sit within the Information, Decisions and Operations Division (IDO). Applications are welcome from outstanding candidates with research interests in any area of Supply Chain Management. Candidates must also be able to lead pedagogical thinking and deliver inspiring teaching to students at the undergraduate, postgraduate and post experience levels.

You would be joining a vibrant and pluralistic research/teaching culture, with a group of colleagues publishing in leading field journals, such as Journal of Operations Management, Operations Research, Production and Operations Management and Journal of Supply Chain Management, as well as general management journals, such as Journal of Management Studies, Organisation Studies and British Journal of Management. Colleagues are active contributors to the academic community: editing journals, taking up leadership positions in professional bodies, organising workshops and conferences and supporting and training new researchers. You should share our passion for research and education and our desire to influence practice.

The Division is home to three research centres that support outstanding international research and scholarship, the HPC Supply Chain Innovation Lab, the Centre for Healthcare Innovation & Improvement (Chi2) and the Centre for Research and Evidence on Security Threats (CREST). We draw on expertise from multiple disciplines, including management, psychology, computer science, mathematics and engineering to tackle real-world business and societal challenges.

IDO delivers high quality teaching into many of the School’s programmes at UG, MSc, MBA and PhD levels. We pride ourselves on our commitment to the student experience and lead specialist postgraduate programmes in Operations, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, and Innovation and Technology Management. Members of the Division also lead and deliver a range of Executive Development offerings.

Applicants should be excited by the possibility of working within a multidisciplinary environment. We are particularly looking for collegiate individuals with a balanced portfolio of activities but applicants must have a track record of publishing in top-tier international journals and/or attracting external research funding.

We encourage the development of a diverse and inclusive workforce and offer excellent benefits, with options for flexible working. The School currently holds an Athena Swan Bronze award and actively participates in equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives.

This is a full-time post with a start date by agreement.
