By joining this exciting Management Knowledge Transfer Partnership (mKTP) between STL Tech Ltd, and the University of Bath’s School of Management you will have the opportunity to work within a dynamic company, interfacing with rapid growth companies, experts across science, engineering, and business, with the support of leading academics in the field. 

The KTP project aims to develop a formalised "product incubation" methodology for STL so they can achieve their aim of becoming a true end-to-end engineering consultancy, providing both commercial and technical support to their clients.

You will be responsible for the main knowledge-related activities of the position, involving several phases that will be developed in parallel.

STL Tech Ltd  is a technology development company that provides expert technical consultancy to SMEs to support innovation across advanced engineering and deep-tech industries. STL provide innovators with the tools, technologies, and expertise needed to turn high-level concepts into successful commercial enterprises.

Throughout the project you will play a key role in managing and implementing strategic development in the business and transferring knowledge between the University and the company.

The role is full-time and based at STL premises in Bristol. 

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A first degree in a STEM discipline e.g., Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a Business graduate with an interest in technology innovation
  • Previous industrial or research project management experience 
  • An awareness of latest developments in the field of research with an interest in technology, entrepreneurship, technology management and/or economics of technology.
  • Ability to conceptualise and understand the commercial imperative for the project, able to demonstrate business acumen.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and tenacity, working to achieve own and team objectives and to overcome obstacles.

The Associate will play a major role in coordinating the stakeholders, so must have excellent communication and organisation skills.
