We have a fantastic development opportunity for an Advanced IT Apprentice to join our Computer Services department at The University of Bath. The campus provides an excellent work environment, with a wide range of on-site amenities, including world-class sporting facilities, and is surrounded by beautiful countryside overlooking the city of Bath. 

The Role 

This is a 4 year Advanced Apprenticeship, you will study with the Open University towards a BSC (Hons) in Digital & Technology Solutions and undertake a wide range of technical support tasks to assist the work of the Computing Services department. Additional training and support will be provided at the University.

The post-holder will work in several Computing Services teams during the four years gaining valuable experience in the following departments, the service desk, IT supporters and infrastructure teams. You will be providing 1st line technical support for IT services and systems at the University. The post-holder will contribute to support processes, resolving problems, documentation and improving service levels.

The successful candidate must be enthusiastic about technology and will be able to show how they have put that interest to practical use in their life.

Standard University business hours are 9.00 am – 5.20 pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00 am – 5.10 pm Friday. From time to time you will be required to work outside these hours, for example to manage maintenance during less disruptive periods such as a 7.00 am start on Tuesdays for the ‘at-risk’ period.
