Manual handling safety standard

This safety standard sets out how the University manages risks associated with lifting and handling activities.

Policy

The standard is supplemented with a manual handling risk assessment template that can be used to assess and record significant manual handling risks. We have also provided a generic office activity manual handling risk assessment that you can use (adapting as appropriate to make sure it meets your needs) to record office based manual handling activities.

These documents were reviewed and agreed by UHSC on 7 March 2023. They are next due to be reviewed in March 2026.
