Six simple ways to help us improve our wellbeing.

Based on the Five Ways to Wellbeing, Six Ways to Be Well breaks down wellbeing into key themes. These themes show that overall wellbeing is about making small positive changes. Balance is the key and Be Well will help you identify the small areas you can focus on to improve your overall wellbeing. The Six Ways to Be Well are:

Be Active

Walk, run, swim, cycle, explore new sports, try new activities and have fun. Do these frequently and creatively. Staying active doesn’t need to be a chore, even small changes and social activities can make a big difference.

Live in the moment and take notice of the things around you. Understand yourself through your experiences, respond well to situations, be calmer and perform better.

Taking notice is about being aware of the present and what is going on both inside and outside ourselves. This can help us become more aware and deal better with situations. It can help to manage stress better, improve general and physical health.

Be Healthy

Sleep well, cook new and healthy recipes, enjoy the outdoors, get away from your screen and make healthy choices. This will help to make you feel ready and get the most out of your day.

Connect

Make time to connect with others around you to feel supported, encouraged, and part of a university, city, national and international community. Talk, listen and support friends, family, course mates and neighbours and they will do the same for you.
