The Students’ Union

SU Advice will close at lunchtime on Wednesday December 20 and reopen on Tuesday 2 January.

All other SU Departments will be closed from Wednesday 20 December until Tuesday 2 January.

Student Support

The Helpdesk at The Roper Centre will be closed from 5pm on 21 December until 9am on 2 January.

The Wellbeing Service

Student Support Advice will be available throughout the vacation period each day from 9am to 5pm (on 25 December and 1 January 9am to 1pm). Email studentsupport@bath.ac.uk to speak to an adviser.

Be Well - Talk Now provides free confidential advice and support to you wherever you are in the world, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call 0808 196 8046 from within the UK, or call +44 3 307771499 from outside the UK.

You can also access urgent support. If you have an emergency, ring 999 or University Security 01225 383 999 if you are on campus or in University accommodation. Security are available 24 hours a day.

External support is also available including the Samaritans, who can be contacted on 116 123.

Chaplaincy

The Chaplaincy will be open from 8am to 10pm every day during Christmas and New Year.

Nigel Rawlinson will also be in Bath Abbey on Christmas Day attending the 11.30am service and will be preaching in Bath Abbey on Sunday, 31 December at the 8am and 10.30am services.

Skills Centre

The Skills Centre is closed from Friday 22 December 2023 until Tuesday 2 January 2024.

Digital and Academic Skills support:

  • bookable 1-1 academic writing support tutorials are closed from Friday 15 December 2023 and resume on Monday 15th January 2024
  • academic skills drop-in support recommences on 5 February 2024
  • skills Enrichment workshops recommence from 5 February 2024

The Mathematics Resources Centre (MASH) is closed from Thursday 21 December until Tuesday 2 January.

Our exam support is as follows:

  • the final drop-in and call backs (online drop-in equivalent) are on Thursday 14 December.
  • the final statistics appointments are on Friday 15 December
  • statistics appointments restart on Friday 5 January
  • drop-in and call backs restart on Monday 8 January
  • everything then runs throughout revision and exams

University Medical Centre

The Practice will be operating normal business hours, excluding the three bank holidays - Monday 25 December, Tuesday 26 December and Monday 2 January - when they will be closed.

University Dental Centre

Please note that this provision is only for existing patients of the practice. If you have a dental emergency and are not registered with a dentist, please call 111 for information.

Mail Room

Computing Services/ IT Purchasing (ITP)

Library Services

The Library building is open to University of Bath students and staff 24 hours a day, all year round including all national and University holidays though staffed services will vary.

There will be no staffed services during the Christmas and New Year vacation period from Friday 22 December to 1 January 2024.

Closed from 12pm Thursday 21 December until 9am Tuesday 2 January.

Campus Infrastructure

Closed from Thursday 21 December at 16:20 and will be open again on Tuesday 2 January at 08:00.

Routine faults can still be reported via the online reporting system found on the departments' web pages, but they will not be dealt with until the department reopens. In the event of an urgent maintenance request or emergency during this time, please call Security.

Security are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The West Accommodation Centre will be closed from 21 December 2023 to 2 January 2024. The The City Accommodation Centre at Green Park House will be closed from 22 December 2023 to 2 January 2024.

The Virgil Building will be closed from 22 December to 26 December and then open again from 27 December to 29 December, from 10am to 7pm. It will be closed from 30 December to 2 January, after which normal opening times will resume.

U1 and U2

There are changes to services between Sunday 17 December and Saturday 6 January 2024 (inclusive).
