One of the special features of studying Architecture and Civil Engineering at Bath is the strong relationship between study and practice.
Our Architecture students have placements integrated into their programme (Professional Practice), while Civil Engineering students can choose to take an optional placement year during their studies.
Benefits of placements
Students find the opportunity to go on a placement extremely valuable for a number of reasons:
- see the application of your studies to real world situations
- develop important professional skills
- earn a salary of £15,000 to £23,000
- increase awareness of career options and develop connections with practice to help find jobs after graduation
- your experience in practice makes you a more desirable graduate to potential employers.
Students on a UK placement are visited by academic staff whilst they are on placement and are supported to ensure they get the best experience possible.
