Bath computer science students win national gaming tournament

A team of computer science students has won the national GameBritannia UK university tournament.

GameBritannia is a UK organisation that aims to foster British gaming talents by building a vibrant British eSports community.

Teams from 16 universities across the UK, battled it out for a place in The Heritage Dota 2 LAN final. Just four teams made it through – University of Cambridge, London School of Economics, The University of Nottingham and Bath.

Over 600 people watched Bath beat Cambridge 3-0 in the grand final on 31 January. All five team members received a trophy, Honor7 smartphone, Nightly MSI motherboard and £500 cash.

Amy Yu, co-founder of Game Britannia said: "Our goal is to be able to create a consistent end-to-end eSport tournament experience for students who want to compete in gaming and represent their universities in the UK.”
