Bath graduate Meri Williams announced as the BCS Young IT Professional of the Year

BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT has announced
the winners of their prestigious
UK IT Industry Awards
2010.
Meri Williams graduated with a First Class Honours in Computer Information Systems in 2005.
After undertaking an internship and placement with Procter and Gamble, Meri has gone on to
become the Information Decision Solutions Manager within the company, leading a team of over 25
people, and regularly returning to Bath looking for talented new students as leader of the South
West Recruitment Team.
For her achievements, the BCS have given Meri the BCS Young IT Professional of the Year
award.
David Clarke, Chief Executive Officer of BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, said: "To
qualify as a finalist is terrific; to win is an absolutely fantastic achievement in these highly
contested Awards."
Dr Joanna Bryson, lecturer in Computer Science and Meri's final year project supervisor said:
"Meri was a fantastic student who won a prize for her contribution to life in the department. She
made the department a better place; not only while she was here, but since she has left."
In addition to her professional activities Meri has also written a successful book in her spare time, The Principles of Project Management, no doubt a factor in receiving this award!
