1. Eat and Drink overview

1.1. All University of Bath members, when registered on the Eat and Drink card scheme will receive an Eat and Drink account allowing them to:

1.1.1. Pay for food across the University ahs Hospitality outlets, assisting them to manage expenditure throughout the year.

2. Membership

2.1. An Eat and Drink account is personal to the registered Eat and Drink account holder.

2.2. Any necessary dealings will be with the account holder.

2.3. The University reserves the right to change these terms and conditions. If it does so it will notify you by email and you will have a chance to terminate your membership with a full refund of any credit on your card.

3. Online Payments

3.1. Online payments into the Eat and Drink scheme can be made online via the Eat and Drink card webpage.

4. Areas of availability

4.1. All of the Hospitality Outlets accept the Eat and Drink account, a list of these can be found on the bars and eateries pages on the University of Bath website

5. Topping up

5.1. Account holders may add funds to their Eat and Drink account online by logging into their Eat and Drink account.

5.2. The maximum amount of top is limited to £100 per transaction with a maximum balance not to exceed £1,000.

5.3. The University accepts no liability if unable to accept account payments due to technical problems.

6. Termination/Suspension of Eat and Drink

6.1. The Eat and Drink scheme has no scheduled end but will be reviewed by the University on an annual basis.

6.2. The University reserves the right to terminate or suspend the operation of the Eat and Drink account scheme for any reason at any time.

6.3. Registered Eat and Drink account holders will receive a full refund of any unspent funds in the event of termination or suspension of the Eat and Drink scheme.

7. Withdrawal from Eat and Drink

7.1. Refunds from unspent balances on an Eat and Drink account will not be provided automatically in the event of an account holder leaving the University. The account holder must request to be withdrawn from the Eat and Drink scheme to obtain a refund.

8. Inactive Accounts

8.1. Any Eat and Drink account found to be inactive for a period of 18 months or more will be closed. Refunds will not be available after 18 months or more of inactivity.

9. Refunds

9.1. The University of Bath will use all reasonable endeavours to return all unspent funds on accounts to account holders within 28 days of termination of, or withdrawal from, the Eat and Drink scheme.

9.2. The minimum amount for any refund is £10.

10. Fraud

10.1. Once the Account has been issued, the account holder is responsible for the Eat and Drink account and funds unless - and until - the Eat and Drink account is returned to the University or is reported lost or stolen in accordance with these terms and conditions.

10.2. Eat and Drink account holders cannot loan their Eat and Drink account to any other person.

10.3. Anyone discovered attempting to defraud Eat and Drink will be subject to University disciplinary procedures and/or will be reported to the Police for further investigation/prosecution.

10.4. Eat and Drink account holders cannot transfer money from their Eat and Drink account to another account.

10.5. The Eat and Drink account is not transferable.

10.6. The University reserves the right to retain the Eat and Drink account at any time and in its absolute discretion.

11. Lost/stolen cards

11.1. In the event of an account holder losing their Library card they must as soon as is reasonably practicable log the account as lost/stolen on the Eat & Drink account webpage and report the loss to the Library.

11.2. As soon as the account holder has logged the account as lost/stolen online the Eat and Drink account will be inactive and no funds will be available to spend.

11.3. As soon as a new account is linked to the account any remaining credit will be available to spend within two working days.

12. Corrupt/Damaged cards

12.1. When a Library card cannot be read by the card reader at the payment terminal, the account holder must replace their library card. The new card will then need to be linked with the account holder’s personal account online.

13. Data protection

13.1. The University of Bath complies with the conditions of the Data Protection Act 1998 when collecting personal data. The data collected will only be that offered by the user and will only be used for the purposes of Eat and Drink scheme and will not be disclosed to any unauthorised person or organisation.

14. Feedback procedure

14.1. All feedback regarding any aspect of the bars and eateries should be directed to the manager of the particular unit/area.

15. Limitations on service

15.1 The University will endeavour to ensure Eat and Drink accounts and the necessary Eat and Drink scheme infrastructure are working to process purchases by account holders. However, the University cannot guarantee the accounts and infrastructure will work all the time. There may, from time to time, be issues that temporarily prevent Eat and Drink accounts or infrastructure from working. The University will look to minimise any inconvenience caused.

15.2 To report a concern or problem with the infrastructure or accounts, please email eatanddrink@bath.ac.uk.

16. No liability

16.1 The University will not be liable for any loss caused as a result of accounts or infrastructure not working.

16.2 In any other circumstances the University is not liable for any financial loss sustained by a customer beyond the amount of credit on an account.

16.3 As stated under clause 11.2 the University will not refund any credit where the account has been used by any third party prior to the account’s cancellation.

16.4 In the event of a lost or stolen card not being cancelled by the card holder online, we will not except liability for losses incurred.
