Apply to become a delegate
A total of four University of Bath delegates will be funded to attend the Cape Town summit, one funded by each of the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences; the Faculty of Engineering and Design; the Faculty of Science and the School of Management.
One Young World Cape Town takes place 3 - 6 November 2026.
To be a University of Bath delegate, you will need to be a current student during the 2026/27 academic year. Students on placement and undertaking PhDs, are eligible to apply. However, if you are selected as a delegate, you must ensure you have permission to attend from your employer, supervisor, or your Director of Studies.
The four delegates chosen to represent each Faculty/School at OYW Cape Town will also be required to lead the Student Organising Committee for the One Young World Bath Forum in 2027. One delegate will be assigned to lead each of the Planning, Relationships and Marketing teams as 'Directors' and one will work in a 'floating' Director role to support the different teams at their busiest times.
Being part of the committee requires a time commitment of approximately 1-3 hours a week (which will increase nearer to the forum), plus your attendance for the event in March 2027. You will have the support of the committee and staff members to make sure your commitment is manageable.
Find out more about the OYW Bath student organising committee teams and Co-Chair roles.
Applications will open on Friday 20 March. The deadline for applications is Sunday 19 April 2026.
In your application, you will need to explain how you would benefit from attending and tell us if you’ve got a project or idea you’d like to develop on your return
You must also agree to the competition terms and conditions.
If you get shortlisted for the delegate places, you will be invited for an interview to review your motivations and eligibility. This is expected to take place during the week of 27 April 2026. Online interviews can be arranged if you are on a placement or studying abroad.
