Help us understand what matters when creating digital tools to support young people’s wellbeing
We need students (aged 14-18), parents, and secondary school staff to help us design school-delivered digital tools to reduce mental health risks in teenagers.
The use of digital tools has been shown to be an effective and acceptable approach for helping to reduce mental health risks (such as disordered eating) in young people.
But general understanding of how to maximise the delivery and implementation of these quick self-guided tools in real-world school settings is lacking.
This study aims to gather views from students, parents, and school staff (and researchers) to help us enhance their design.
Take part in this research study
The deadline to apply is 5 June 2026.
What you’ll do
You’ll complete two or three separate online surveys. These will be spaced approximately two to three weeks apart, with each taking around 30 minutes to complete. These will ask you to:
- Rate how important it is to include different wellbeing challenges that can build up into bigger mental health concerns (we’ll explain them), in these digital support tools
- Rate how important it is to include different features (like additional support features) in these digital support tools
- Rate how important you think different factors are for impacting whether teenagers use the digital support tools
What you’ll get
Your involvement will be greatly valued and will help shape a new set of digital tools to support teenagers, so they have the best chance of being helpful.
You will receive a small compensation for your time.
