These scholarships enable excellent candidates to work with leading academics in research areas that are at the heart of the greatest global challenges and opportunities of our time.

Funding Available

Each scholarship provides funding for up to four years. This includes:

  • tuition fees at the home rate
  • a generous annual Training Support Fund
  • maintenance Stipend at the UKRI minimum rate

If you are an international student and in receipt of this scholarship, you will receive a fee waiver on top of your scholarship. Find out more about your tuition fee status.

Please note that our studentships do not cover UK Student visa costs, or the cost of the mandatory UK Immigration Health Surcharge. These costs can be considerable, so we ask all Overseas applicants to check these costs before applying and ensure they would be willing and able to cover these from their personal funds.

Additional funds for childcare can be considered as part of the scholarship. If these funds are required, please state so in your application and the Doctoral College will contact you if you are successful in receiving an offer. Any request for childcare funds will not be considered as part of the selection process.
