As a student from the Americas, you may be eligible for funding to support your doctoral study at Bath

David Parkin Scholarship

The scholarship offers a funding opportunity for students from the Americas: North, Central, South or Caribbean. The research project can be in any discipline.


The scholarship provides funding for up to 4 years. This includes:

  • Tuition fees at the international rate
  • Training support fund of £5000 each year
  • Maintenance Stipend at the UKRI minimum rate

Additional funds for childcare can be considered as part of the scholarship. If these funds are required, please state so in your application and the Doctoral College will contact you if you are successful in receiving an offer. Any request for childcare funds will not be considered as part of the selection process.

Eligibility

You can apply for this scholarship if you are a student and national of the Americas (North, Central, South or Caribbean) who wants to undertake doctoral study at the University of Bath.

Applicants may apply by identifying their individual doctoral programme and then clicking on the APPLY NOW button. We encourage applicants to identify and contact a suitable supervisor in order to develop their project and application. The research can be in any discipline.

Applicants must select 'Donor or Alumni funded Studentship (Please specify in space below)' from the drop-down menu in the ‘Funding your studies’ section, and then state 'David Parkin Scholarship' in the free text box. If this text is not entered, you will not be considered for this scholarship.

Applicants must satisfy all visa and immigration requirements.

Complete applications must be submitted by 07 January 2024 If you are successful, you will be contacted by mid-March 2024
