Teacher and Adviser Conference

Our annual, free higher education conference for teachers and advisers.

Annual teacher and adviser conference

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting teachers and advisers, we are delighted to confirm we will be hosting our annual Teacher and Adviser conference on Wednesday 24 June 2026.

A presentation about admissions data being given to a group of teachers in a lecture theatre.

This free event brings together professionals from schools and colleges who share an interest in helping their students apply for places at high tariff universities such as Bath. It is designed for teachers, advisers, and anyone involved in guiding students through higher education progression and applications.

We welcome professionals from all schools and colleges. If you are an international professional, please contact the international recruitment team for booking details and further information.

The conference features a varied schedule of talks and interactive workshops delivered by guest speakers, university staff, and current students. Sessions are designed to equip attendees with the latest updates, practical advice, and insights into the current higher education landscape. Our aim is to help you feel confident in supporting students as they apply for increasingly competitive university places.

Alongside expert guidance, the event offers a unique opportunity to experience life at the University of Bath and connect with colleagues who share your commitment to helping students succeed in higher education.

Hear first-hand what support they received from their schools and colleges, and discover the systems Bath has in place to help students settle in and thrive. This interactive panel, led by our Student Retention Team Leader, offers valuable insights for teachers looking to better prepare and support their students for the next step in their education journey.

Uni Taster Days: 5 Must-Knows to Help Your Students Master Their University Journey

Our colleagues at Uni Taster Days will provide valuable insights and actionable advice about 5 critical steps within the 18-month application journey. Firstly, you'll discover the reasons why your students may wish to consider university. Secondly, you'll learn methods for helping them to decide what to study and where. Thirdly, we'll explore the critical topic of student finance, including the latest sector updates. Next, we'll explore how your students should decide between their offers. Finally, we'll share free resources to support your students (and yourselves) throughout the university journey.

Supercharging Student Choices with the UCAS Hub

In this fast-paced session, delivered by the Lead for schools and colleges at UCAS, you’ll discover how to turn the UCAS Hub into a powerful launchpad for student exploration. From virtual work experience to real-time student chat, we’ll show you how to bring key features to life in your setting. Backed by UCAS research, you’ll leave with practical strategies to help every student connect their interests to real opportunities and take their next step with purpose.

Supporting International Students: Admissions, Visas & Beyond

This informative session brings together experts from our Admissions and International Student Support teams to share everything you need to know about supporting international applicants. We’ll cover essential topics including entry requirements, visa and immigration processes, and the extensive range of support services designed to help students settle in and thrive at a UK university. This session is ideal for anyone who teaches or advises international students and offers a valuable opportunity to gain expert insights, deepen your understanding, and get your questions answered.

Student Finance 2026: Key Updates for Teachers and Advisers

The Student Loans Company will provide an overview of the updated SFE AY 26/27 figures and policy changes for students starting in September 2026. The session will also introduce the Lifelong Learning Entitlement (LLE), covering standard and additional entitlement, residual entitlement calculations, and maintenance support. It will highlight the new rules and terminology being introduced under the LLE, helping you confidently advise your students ahead of the January 2027 launch.
