Reviewing your completed modules

You can view which modules you have completed and when, on your Learning and Training record in Employee Self-Service ESS. Please allow 48 hours after completion for the system to update.

Errors in training records

We are currently experiencing significant numbers of errors in training records which we are working to rectify. If you notice an error in your training records, please email hrmi@bath.ac.uk with evidence of completion to ensure your records are updated.

Cyber Security Awareness for Staff Online course Mandatory for All staff. This course has replaced the Information Security course. IT Security Team it-security@bath.ac.uk
Data protection Policy and guidelines All staff whose work includes access to personal information, about staff, students or any other individuals, should complete this course within one month of starting at the University. Safeguarding in HE Online course This statutory safeguarding training module provides an overview of safeguarding for under 18s and adults who may be at risk of harm. This training is mandatory for ALL staff. Staff should complete this training within their first three months. This training should be refreshed every three years. #NeverOK – Active Respect: Rights and Responsibilities & Bystander (Staff) Online course This new module is mandatory for all staff and replaces the previous Be the Change training. All existing staff should complete by the end of October 2025 as a refresher course. The programme aims to tackle all forms of harassment, bullying and discrimination at the University of Bath through a series of training opportunities and awareness raising events. Anti-Money Laundering Online course Mandatory for all staff in F&PO and AO, to be completed within six weeks of University start date and within every two years thereafter. All staff should make themselves familiar with the University's Anti-money Laundering Policy. financial-probity@bath.ac.uk
Research Integrity training Online course Mandatory for all researchers: academic staff and research staff must do this module or otherwise satisfy their HOS of equivalent competence. Other staff, for example, professional staff supporting research and teaching fellows, are encouraged to complete. Research Ethics research-ethics@bath.ac.uk
Recruitment and selection for panel members Online Course Mandatory for all chairs of interview panels and anyone involved in shortlisting or interviewing for academic appointments. Workforce Development workforce-development@bath.ac.uk
Pastoral Support staff training session In Person Course This training is mandatory for Academic Advisors and Doctoral Supervisors, and strongly recommended for student-facing Professional Services colleagues. Doctoral Supervision Workshop In Person Course This training is mandatory for all staff on an Education and Research Contract. Please access Employee Self Service (ESS) to book onto the training for your faculty. Disability Awareness (Recommended training. Note you will need to select course catalogue within the Learn Upon platform and then enrol on the course from this list) Online course The course is recommended for all staff, covering foundational knowledge of the 2010 Equality Act, and obligations under it in respect of disability. The training is externally provided (not Bath specific), and covers content on interactions with both staff and students, but contains important updates following the EHRC Advice Note for the HE Sector in July 2024, of which all staff engaging with students should be aware. Refresher Modules

Refresher modules should be completed 12 months after completion of the full module.

Monitoring your team's compliance

If you are a Line Manager or Head of Department, you will also periodically receive a Training Compliance Report to help you monitor and ensure compliance.
