  • 2 Sep 2019, 9.00am to 13 Sep 2019, 5.00pm BST (GMT +01:00)
  • Claverton Down Campus, University of Bath
  • This event is free

As a compulsory part of your Professional Doctorate in Policy Research and Practice, you must take part in a two-week residential course during your first and second years on the programme. After your second year, you can choose whether you want to attend.

The residential takes place on the University campus at the beginning of September. It provides an opportunity for informal contact, discussion and exchange of ideas and experience with university staff and students across programme cohorts and incorporates events of wider interest, such as the annual IPR symposium.

You will meet the course professors for Year 1, with a view to planning coursework over the coming year, as well as the course professors in charge of the various specialisms of subsequent years.

Timetables will be available in due course.

Induction

You first two-week residential course will involve an induction programme which introduces you to our research community and the Institute for Policy Research. You will also learn about administrative procedures, support and facilities within the University as well as get to meet your personal tutors.

Accommodation

We encourage you to stay in University accommodation for the duration of the residential. The accommodation costs are covered by your course fees. Each student will have their own en-suite shower room on campus with breakfast.
