Become an ISEP certified Sustainability Auditor for Green Impact

The University and SOS-UK have an exciting opportunity open to all students. Take action and get involved: receive ISEP training on sustainability auditing.

In addition to becoming a certified sustainability auditor for Green Impact, you will put your learning into practice straight away and work together to conduct audits of 15 University departments. Over the past year, teams across the University have been working on our staff sustainability programme, Green Impact, and you now can review and audit this work.

Apply to become a sustainability auditor by Tuesday 21 April 2026. You will be contacted by the end of April to confirm whether you have secured a place.

This training will support you to deepen your understanding of sustainability in the workplace and develop transferable employability skills including:

  • communication
  • team working
  • decision making
  • time management

As an auditor, you will play an important role in helping shape and progress the University’s work to foster a sustainable future for both people and the planet. Lunch and refreshments will be provided on the day as a thank you for your time and effort volunteering on this project.

Sustainability auditor training

Take part in a dynamic two-day experience designed to build your sustainability expertise, apply your knowledge in real world settings, and gain recognised certification to boost your CV.

Day 1 – ISEP training and content review

On Wednesday 20 May 2026:

  • start your journey with an interactive accredited sustainability training session from 9.30am to 12.00pm:
    • you’ll develop key knowledge and practical skills that are highly valued by employers
    • lunch and refreshments will be provided as a thank you for your volunteering (please bring your own reusable water bottle)
  • during the afternoon from 1.00pm to 4.00pm:
    • you’ll take part in a collaborative group content review
    • apply what you’ve learned in the morning and prepare for your real world audit experience

Day 2 – department audits

You will be allocated a two-hour slot to put your skills into practice by conducting a real-life sustainability audit of a University department.

On Thursday 21 May 2026, you will:

  • work in teams
  • assess practices
  • identify opportunities for improvement
  • gain hands-on experience in sustainability evaluation
