Activity in University laboratories is vital to enabling research at the University, and they also represent a significant area of energy- and resource-intense activities. In line with the University's commitments to take action tackling the climate emergency and sustainability challenges, in this course we will uncover some of the opportunities to embed sustainability in lab practices and processes, while prioritising research quality.
Topics covered will include:
- sustainability action at University of Bath
- impacts of working in labs (the good, the bad and the ugly)
- how to get started in the LEAF platform
- topic areas of impact for you to focus efforts on
- engaging with colleagues and students on sustainability
Course structure
- This course will be delivered on campus as an in-person event over a one-hour session
- There is no pre-work required as part of this course but we suggest looking through the resources linked below
Who should attend?
As an introductory course, content in this session will be suitable for lab users at the University, including technical staff, researchers and postgraduate students. Teams or departments interested in bespoke training should contact climateaction@bath.ac.uk to discuss further.
